The way we Listen

As long as big concerts will be held, ebay ticket sellers will continue to get their share… During these days, tickets for AC/DC reunion concerts are being sold throughout Europe… The whole set of ticket for each concert is always gone in less than an hour… Minutes later, some of these tickets are back on the net, on Ebay with prices twice or three times higher!

How can we stop this madness? It seems that no one has a bit of a solution. I can’t even imagine what it will be like when they will announce the next U2 tour, probably in 2009. Ticketing websites and managers must find how to counter this phenomenon… and to avoid unscrupulous selles to make profits out of almost half of live tickets.

  • Great news for the american punk community! The Offspring has released its 8th studio album, entitled Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace.
  • Still in California, Metallica has announced the release of its 9th studio album Death Magnetic in September. The album is produced by Rick Rubin, who has worked with Johnny Cash, U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Linkin Park …
  • Our Irish friends of U2 are also going to announce their next album. In an interview at the BBC, manager Paul McGuinness talks about a possible release at the end of October.
  • Another rumour flies around, saying that Paul McCartney would make a big farewell tour in 2009, before hanging up his guitar … Wait and see!
  • The news has just been posted on Genesis official website. The DVD capturing the 2007 reunion tour of the band is coming out on May 26th, 2008 !

This time it ain’t no joke!  … The possibility was very high, it is now official: hard rock band Velvet Revolver have parted ways with singer Scott Weiland. The band announced the ousting of the singer on its official website, calling into question its commitment with the fans and his erratic behavior on stage.
Just to remember, Velvet Revolver is a band formed by former members of Guns N ‘Roses Duff McKagan (bass), Matt Sorum (drums) and Slash (lead guitar), along with Dave Kushner on rhythm guitar. The band is being regarded as the real musical continuation of GNR, as only Axl Rose is left in the original band… and the new album is being waited… for ten years now!
Velvet Revolver have released two albums since their creation in 2002. To give you a preview, here are two of their best songs:

    Fall to pieces (Live 8, 2005) :

    Slither :

Since a few days, just after the end of their European tour, the band is left without lead singer. However, Slash is convinced that the group will continue to move forward. With Sebastian Bach? Skid Row’s former singer was already on the run to become the voice of the band in the first place…
Weiland, in his rather vigorous response to Slash about his firing, even encourage them to engage the canadian rock singer. To be continued …

Well that’s great news ! QueenOnline.com just announced that the new form of the band starring Brian May, Roger Taylor and Paul Rodgers will release a new album September 1st, 2008. This is the first album with brand new material since Made in Heaven in 1995. The title is to be announced in a few weeks.

The other great news is that Queen + Paul Rodgers is heading to a new world tour in support of this new album!
