The way we Listen

It is time for us to give you our season’s greetings, above all a very very happy Christmas! Full of gifts, full of joy…

These last days we’ve been very busy, which explains a low amount of posts… But we hope Santa will fix all that! For now, let’s just have a great Christmas eve and party!

Several rock bands wanted to give their best wishes, so here they are, from them to you :

Dear fans, we wish you a merry christmas and a Rockin’ new year ! Thank you for your great support and we look forward to seeing you in 2008 ! Keep on Rockin’ !

The Scorpions

When 2007 started who would have thought that we would have the joy and excitement of seeing The Police performing live again?
We hope you had an amazing year and caught at least one Police show. You can keep checking out the band here on Sting.com and ThePolice.com and, as our way of saying thank you, check out this cool video from Sting, Stewart and Andy. Seasons Greetings from all at Sting.com!

Sting & The Police

Whether you

Brilliant. Wonderful. Led Zeppelin recent reunion generated one of the greatest Rock’n'roll moments of the year : a unique concert in London. 80.000 fans attended the gig that took place December 10th in the O2 stadium. Original members were almost all there : Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham, John Bonham’s son (former drummer, who died in 1980).

Here’s the setlist played that night :

‘Good Times, Bad Times’
‘Ramble On’
‘Black Dog’
‘In My Time Of Dying’
‘For Your Life’
‘Trampled Under Foot’
‘Nobody’s Fault But Mine’
‘No Quarter’
‘Since I’ve Been Loving You’
‘Dazed And Confused’
‘Stairway To Heaven’
‘The Song Remains The Same’
‘Misty Mountain Hop’
‘Kashmir’

‘Whole Lotta Love’
‘Rock And Roll’
And here’s two live videos :
Kashmir

Stairway to Heaven

The story take place in 1995, during the MTV Music Video Awards. Michael Jackson and Slash were asked to perform the main event of the show… Michael the King of Pop starts its medley, and during “Black or White”, Slash comes in with his famous hat, and begins a real “guitar hero” solo. But he gets too intense and his solo lasts a very long time… TOO long time for the MTV crew! One of their men get on the stage and kindly asks Mr. Guns ‘n’ Roses to finish up quickly… Slash ends his solo without showing any concern, and then gets off the stage.

I found this new device recently… It may become a little revolution in the guitar world… Gibson just introduced a week ago their brand new electric guitar, the “Robot Guitar”, which comes with a electronic system that allows self-tuning! It is an amazing innovation, for all of you who keep playing 5th frets all day long… The instrument can even detect by itself if a string is wrongly tuned, and adjust it automatically!

You are even able to switch between a specified set of tunings, as easily as you adjust the volume.

Unfortunately, this technological piece comes with a price : 1400

On this sunny sunday (not that sunny, though…), here’s a post that has absolutely nothing to do with music… While reading an interesting article about setting up a new blog, I just discovered a quizz “Are you addicted to blogging”.

–> The link

So enjoy! I just took the test, and here is the result :

67%How Addicted to Blogging Are You?

It’s over! A tiny earthquake shook the music industry recently, when the english rock band Radiohead got rid of distributors and labels. Their new album “In Rainbows” was made available for download on their official website. You even had the right to choose what price you wanted to put on this disc!

A recent post published on the official website states that there will be no more MP3 downloads, starting December 10th. The album will then be available in classical stores.

However, this original idea was successfully reproduced by other artists such as Nine Inch Nails or Barbara Hendricks. The music industry has to face this new problem : artists don’t want to lose the product of their work in the hands of thousands of businessmen and companies… What do you think about this new issue?

December… almost the end of 2007. Well this year was very very full with concerts for us! And most of all reunion tours and things you cannot miss. We’ll post live reports for each of these concerts that we attended throughout the year :

  • The Scorpions, Zenith, Paris 14/05/07 - Humanity Hour I Tour
  • Aerosmith, Bercy, Paris 19/06/07 - 2007 World Tour
  • Genesis, Stade Gerland, Lyon 12/07/07 - Turn It On Again Tour

It’s all about rock : travelling through styles and decades.
